A completely new building method
We present STYROBUILD, the building method of the future.
With the Styrobuild method, you will be able to build the most energy-saving and environmentally friendly buildings and homes on the market.
The method implies that we use the material Styrofoam/Isopor of the highest professional quality (not to be confused with ordinary Isopor), in combination with Polyurea. Polyurea is a membrane that is applied and follows the surfaces seamlessly.
Together, this combination and the properties mean that we can build the most energy-saving and environmentally friendly buildings and homes on the market.

This is the building of the future
Very environmentally friendly
Technology driven
Virtually maintenance-free
What is Styrobuild?
With the Styrobuild method, you will be able to build the most energy-saving and environmentally friendly buildings and homes on the market.
The entire building will have a 100% tight membrane without having to mix in many different building materials.
Such simplification is essential for a solid foundation and an almost maintenance-free building.
Polyurea surface treated. All surfaces are sprayed with a 2-3mm thick layer of Polyurea. This provides enormous structural strength and at the same time meets fire requirements.
Environment and sustainability. The environmental impact is much lower than for traditional buildings. If you calculate emissions with construction method and maintenance over time, greenhouse gas emissions are reduced by 50%.
Miljøfordelene er åpenbare, da byggemetoden er enklere og mindre resurskrevende, samt vedlikeholdet over tid reduseres betraktelig.
All parts of construction are recyclable.
When rebuilding or demolishing, styrofoam from construction can be recycled into new products.
Material applied Polyurea, can also be recycled into a number of new products that are molded under heat.
Costs. Construction costs are reduced by 30-40%. With good logistics, it will be possible to set up a detached house in 2 days, completely finished.
Windows are integrated into the facade without frames, providing better thermal insulation than any other window on the market today. The cost of the window is also reduced in this way by 40%.
Transport costs are reduced by 50% to the construction site.
Insulating ability. EPS S400MX has a very good declared lambda value of 0.033 W/mK and you will achieve the U-value requirement of 0.13 W/m2K in a ceiling with a thickness of approx. 250 mm. U-value requirements for floor and wall are respectively 0.10 and 0.18. Styrobuild uses S400MX of 330 mm in the walls and ceiling, and stays well within the requirements. The insulation capacity can be compared to approx. 40 cm Glava thickness.
Moisture absorption. Even with long-term immersion in water, the moisture absorption is less than 5-8% by volume. Covered by Polyurea, the moisture absorption will be equal to 0.
Aging resistance. Like concrete, Styrofoam gets stronger over time.
The material is not affected by fungi and microorganisms. Rodents and insects cannot feed on it.
Design. There are endless possibilities for custom design.
Maintenance. Maintenance over time is reduced by 80% compared to traditional building methods.
Compressive strength. The EPS material is available in different compressive strengths so that you can choose the right one in each individual case. Long-term load/use load for EPS varies from approx. 2 to 12 tonnes per square meter with evenly distributed load.
Energy. In terms of energy, this solution will be superior and the best that can be achieved compared to other building methods.
Corrosion. The material does not corrode and does not affect the corrosion of adjacent material.
Dense building. All parts of the building, walls and roof are 100% sealed, as this is a membrane.
30cm EPS has the same properties as 40cm Glava.
The building will be airtight, and a ventilation system will be 100% necessary.
Development and process
Naturally, there are some challenges to be solved, but we are already well underway with the process, and we see that we will succeed.
Styrobuild was created because we experienced that today’s buildings have too high costs when it comes to maintenance, and constant challenges arise due to sloppiness and poor craftsmanship carried out during construction.
With the Styrobuild method, the entire building will have a 100% tight membrane without having to mix in many different building materials. Such simplification is essential for a solid foundation and an almost maintenance-free building.
Various research environments in Norway and abroad are already involved in Styrobuild, and we hope to be able to present Styrobuild to the market in 2022.
